John-Christopher (JC) Finley is a third-year doctoral student in clinical psychology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Before beginning his doctorate, JC received his master’s degree in clinical psychology and worked in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He has worked with diverse adult populations in a variety of settings including private practice, community mental health, hospital, and forensic-legal facilities.

In his practice, JC uses a process-based approach that integrates elements from mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, and trauma. JC prioritizes treatment methods that can be tailored to the unique needs and cultural backgrounds of each individual he works with.

To better inform his clinical work, he is actively involved in scientific research focused on understanding how medical and mental health conditions impact the brain. Outside of work, JC enjoys skiing, white water kayaking, mountaineering, and painting.
