Annie Schrayer, Psy.D. (She/her)

Co-Director of Family, Adolescent, and Child Program

Hi! I’m Annie.

I believe that no one needs to fit into one particular “mold” of therapy. As a therapist, my goal is to ensure that our time together fits your needs and personality. I prioritize building a relationship and being curious about what brought you here and how we can make therapy the most beneficial for you. Past clients would likely describe me as authentic and warm, as I believe that collaboration and open communication is key to healing and building connection. Together, we can have honest and direct conversations while also leaving space for humor and laughter.

My experience spans school systems, private practice, and hospital systems, and I completed my clinical internship at Connections Day School. The variety in these settings has taught me the value of leveraging different therapeutic techniques to meet the unique needs of my clients. I have a strong background working with children, adolescents, and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, relational challenges, identity challenges, and ADHD. In my therapeutic approach, I integrate different evidence based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Together, we will decide what meaningful change looks like for you and utilize a values-based approach to move towards this change.

I am also trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), which is a parent-based treatment program for children and adolescents with anxiety, OCD, and related problems. Through my experience in working with childhood anxiety disorders, I feel strongly that it is imperative to utilize a multi-disciplinary approach, ensuring consistency and support across all of the child’s environment. I make it a priority to collaborate with teachers, pediatricians, and others you feel is appropriate in order to ensure a holistic treatment experience for both you and your child. I am determined to find the best french fries in the city (the current top ranked is Athenian Room, but I am always open to suggestions), trying different cold brews no matter the temperature outside, and cheering on the University of Michigan’s sports teams. Oh- and I am a dog mom to the most perfect being to ever exist- Archie! I love showing anyone who asks me my hundreds of pictures of him. He is also training to be a therapy dog! We can’t wait to meet you!
