Life gets hard sometimes. Maybe it’s hard to get out of bed, hobbies and socializing just don’t seem as appealing as they once were, or you’re consistently “down in the dumps.” Or maybe you can’t stop worrying about anything and everything, which makes it hard to get anything done. Perhaps you’re questioning things like gender or sexuality and seeking clarity and affirmation.
If this sounds like you, maybe it’s time to consider counseling. I use an eclectic blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), solution-focused, and person-centered techniques to help you become the best you you can be. Together let’s explore depression, anxiety, life transitions, and unhealthy relationships. I will meet you where you’re at to help you meet your goals and live the life you want to live. During therapy, we will build coping skills to help you navigate day-to-day stressors, as well as uncover underlying issues that contribute to your symptoms. I’ll keep it straight with you, but in a gentle way.
I graduated with my Bachelors degree from Carthage College, then studied at Illinois State University where I earned my Masters of Science in Clinical-Counseling Psychology. When I’m not at the office I’m probably hanging out with my dog, a miniature dachshund named Maple, or at drag shows across the city.
