Udi Cintron, LSW (He/him)

Staff Therapist

A dedicated, empathetic clinician with a mission to implement care with dignity and respect and to be relatable with clients. Passionate, fostering interpersonal connections with clients, meeting them where they are, and promoting strength-based and evidence-based approaches with trust.

I completed my master’s degree with a concentration in child and family social work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. While there, I interned for Bright Star Community Outreach, conducting telehealth therapeutic sessions with an inner-city adolescent and young adult.

My identities as a man, Latino, brother, confidant, advisor, gay, companion, husband, cousin, friend, nephew, and son allow me to understand the different aspects of my future clients, the roles that identities have on them, and the societal implications associated with them. They allow me to relate to aspects of their plight. Using my identities and the situations and life experiences I have obtained over the years has helped shape my clinical work.

One of my volunteer experiences was working with Stand Up for Kids. While there, I had the privilege of working with homeless LGBTQ+ teens and young adults. We provided them with hot food and a welcoming environment. I would listen to and hear them and their struggles and provide support. They helped me have a better understanding of issues that trans people face—as youth who are transitioning/aging out of foster care and have no place to turn to. I gained significant experience with them that has helped me foster my clinical work.

My clinical background is in trauma-informed care. I learned to use trauma-informed care to help create a safe environment for clients to express their experiences with trauma, help them understand their triggers, and develop coping skills for the betterment of their well-being. My theoretical orientation is a strength-based approach. Everyone is resilient in their own way. A strength-based approach allows clients to realize their capacity to navigate their lives.

Furthermore, I have experience in cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and exposure therapy.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, cats (Ellie and Teddy), and family. I also enjoy swimming and watching documentaries on a variety of topics. My main passion is helping others in a positive, impactful way.

Insurance Accepted: BCBS PPO and Aetna
