Staff Therapist-Lakeview Office
Hi! Thank you for stopping by! My preferred pronouns are She, Her, Hers. What are yours?
In this space, you have the chance to get to know a little bit about me, before you make a big decision about engaging in therapy. It’s a big step, so take a moment to congratulate yourself!
My idea of effective therapy is one where there is mutual respect, transparency, and collaboration with my clients. I take the time to really build a professional and therapeutic relationship with my clients and to understand their experience. Afterall, my clients are the experts of their experience. I normally work with adults and older adults clients who suffer from a range of different anxiety disorders, with specialized training for hoarding and insomnia. I have training in various different therapy modalities, such as CBT, ACT, DBT, ERP and a slew of others. I really take on a team approach with my clients, because in my mind we’re working together to get you to live a more meaningful life.
When I’m not helping my clients make changes in their lives, I’m creating changes in my own. I’m a firm believer in using what I help teach. If I’m upset, I try to notice my thinking. If I’m trying to change a behavior of mine, I think of the value that it’s connected to. If I’m feeling really anxious or emotionally dysregulated, I’m attempting to use a skill to help myself cope. I truly believe in the work I do and use it with myself the best I can.
In my free time, you’ll find me humming random tunes and songs almost always. When I’m in my car, the music is usually to the max and I’m singing to the top of my lungs. I also have a love/hate relationship with running. I love to cook. It’s soothing for me to cut vegetables and hear food searing on the pan. But most of all, I love watching people’s facial expressions when they eat my food. The anticipation makes me giddy. I’m a huge dog lover and love watching waves in any body of water. There’s something about being able to watch water that has always been soothing to me. I wish Harry Potter’s world was real and all the other worlds that books give me the opportunity to go into. These are just a few joys in my life that help me cope with the harder things that show up.
If I sound like an initial good fit as a therapist, please feel to reach out and ask more questions. I look forward to hearing from you!
