Zech Dearth is a Licensed Professional Counselor at the Depression and Anxiety Specialty Clinic. He received an undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in women and gender studies. He went on to obtain his master’s degree at Adler University specializing in clinical mental health counseling. Mr. Dearth has worked with a multitude of diverse clients experiencing depression, anxiety, LGBTQIA+ issues, personality disorders, life transitions, relational issues, and trauma.
Mr. Dearth has experience working with all age groups in a variety of community settings. His internship experience with Erie Family House included utilizing a trauma-informed lens with play therapy for children aged two years up to five years of age. Mr. Dearth had also gained experience working with teens in a collaborative family approach through individual and group therapy at Erie Family House as well. From there he gained much experience working with adults at Trilogy Behavioral Health as a recovery counselor and later as a team leader. At Trilogy, Mr. Dearth supervised a team of case managers while offering individual therapy to adults with anxiety, personality disorder, substance abuse, trauma, and depression.
Mr. Dearth approaches therapy with an empathic view while utilizing humor and authenticity. He seeks to provide a healing environment for clients to feel safe, respected, and heard. He utilizes a client-centered framework while engaging the client in evidence based interventions. Mr. Dearth is passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community, teens, and adolescents in need of added support and counseling.
