Dr. Bharadwaj is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She earned her Bachelors degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Following her undergraduate degree, Dr. Bharadwaj spent a semester in India studying Buddhism to expand her knowledge of mindfulness-based practices that she had begun to analyze and practice. She returned to complete her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology focusing on Multicultural Psychology. Her doctoral training included work in a psychiatric hospital, an HIV Clinic and a community mental health facility, which provided services to relocated refugees.
Dr. Bharadwaj completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship as a clinical therapist with the Anxiety Program at Linden Oaks Hospital.
Dr. Bharadwaj currently utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She has experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and works to incorporate culturally sensitive and suitable interventions with clients. Dr. Bharadwaj has experience working with families, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings, who demonstrate a broad range of psychological and emotional difficulties including anxiety, trauma-related difficulties, anger management, depression, personality disorders, and eating disorders. Dr. Bharadwaj also specializes in concerns relating to identity, specifically tension between various aspects of identity; and better identifying and understanding who we are, as well as transitions throughout different stages in life. Dr. Bharadwaj also has extensive knowledge and experience with group therapy focused on skills training as well as process-oriented groups.
Prior to joining DASC, Dr. Bharadwaj served as a clinical therapist at a group practice in Chicago where she was as a supervisor to junior level staff, and provided direct therapeutic services to individuals and couples.
