Caroline Burke is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at the Depression and Anxiety Specialty Clinic of Chicago. Caroline graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from The University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. She then went on to earn her Master’s degree in Social Work from The University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration, with a concentration on clinical practice as well as school social work.
Ms. Burke has several years of comprehensive experience serving diverse populations from a multidisciplinary and individualized perspective. Prior to joining DASC, Ms. Burke contributed to a team within one of the fastest growing non-profits, Year Up; served students in both the general and special education categories at Niles North High School; and provided counseling and crisis management to adolescents with behavioral, emotional and learning disabilities at Joseph Academy Therapeutic Day School. Ms. Burke has worked with children, adolescents and their caregivers, as well as adults presenting a range of mental health issues, including but not limited to: anxiety disorders, mood disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and anger and stress management. Additionally, Ms. Burke has experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma, grief and loss, and legal issues.
Ms. Burke adapts various empirically supported theoretical frameworks to help meet client’s needs. She applies Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and integrates the use of client’s strengths.
