Dr. Berg is a licensed clinical psychologist at the Depression and Anxiety Specialty Clinic of Chicago. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Northern Illinois University and later earned her Master’s and Ph.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed an internship and a post-doctoral fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and The Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago where she specialized in the cognitive-behavioral treatment of depression and anxiety.
Dr. Berg has received training in empirically supported treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Dr. Berg also has expertise in emotion management and the treatment of chronic depression and self-harm behaviors.Dr. Berg now has her certification in Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP), which means she is certified to provide CBASP as well as train others in it. CBASP is a cognitive behavioral and interpersonal approach developed specifically to treat chronic depression.
Dr. Berg is also a Contributing Services Faculty member at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago. In this role, she offers consultation services to interns and post-doctoral fellows, and she guest lectures on a variety of clinical topics and professional issues.
