Hello! My approach to therapy incorporates humor, warmth and authenticity to provide a safe and collaborative environment. Throughout the therapy process, I seek to establish a genuine and open rapport with my clients while helping them identify patterns, challenges, and areas for growth. My hope for all of my clients is to be able to live a fulfilling life that aligns with their values and authentic self.
I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including community mental health agencies, residential programs, intensive outpatient and outpatient settings, and substance abuse treatment centers. I have provided both individual and group therapy to those facing a diverse range of concerns, and have experience and a particular passion working with anxiety disorders, body image, ADHD, eating disorders, OCD, depression and trauma.
I utilize and adapt empirically validated treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT), Mindfulness and Harm Reduction. I also incorporate Mindful Self-Compassion techniques to support individuals in practicing self-compassion and understanding the universality of suffering in the human experience. I am committed to receiving ongoing training and consultation in evidence-based practices. As an ally for the LGTBQ+ communities, I am also committed and interested in better understanding the complexities of sexuality, gender and identity in our current culture.
