Molly McLeese is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor at the Depression and Anxiety Specialty Clinic of Chicago (DASC). Ms. McLeese is passionate about providing therapy for concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, life transitions, and difficulty in relationships. She identifies as an affirming therapist for the LGBTQIA+ population. Ms. McLeese provides therapy utilizing evidence-based practices such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
Ms. McLeese received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa and her Master of Science degree in Clinical-Counseling Psychology from Illinois State University. She has experience working in both community mental health and private practice settings. Ms. McLeese completed her clinical practicum at the DeWitt County Human Resource Center, where she conducted crisis assessments, led substance abuse groups, and provided individual counseling. At her previous private practice Ms. McLeese served as the Intake Coordinator and helped match clients with therapists, supervised the intake team, and led staff trainings.
Throughout her time at DASC Ms. McLeese has conducted clinical assessments and provided individual and group therapy for adolescents and adults. She currently leads a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) group, Exposure Therapy group, and the Stress Less Teen Processing group. Ms. McLeese also has experience as a lecturer at Northwestern University where she taught Introduction to Dialectical Behavior Therapy for graduate students in clinical psychology. She believes strongly in supporting fellow clinicians in the community and has provided trainings on topics such as the treatment of OCD and anxiety.
