Staff therapist-Lakeview Office
I like to think of myself as a warm, authentic clinician, who wants to get to know my clients and understand what drives them. I value connectedness, empathy, and a nonjudgmental approach, with the priority being my client’s unique values and goals. I believe the client is the expert in their own life, and I seek to support them in exploring both acceptance and change to navigate life’s complexities.
I have experience in treating adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, OCD, perinatal and postpartum mood / anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, interpersonal issues, identity formation, and difficulty coping with life changes.
My work is informed by training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and I work to incorporate these methodologies into my work based on each person’s goals and needs. I also rely heavily on philosophies of mindfulness, values identification, and self-compassion.
I completed my undergraduate education at Vanderbilt University, studying Child Development and Human & Organizational Development. I love working to understand how people organize and operate. I spent several years as a Change Management Consultant before deciding that where I find meaning lies within enacting change at the individual level. I later completed my MA at The University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration to become a LCSW. I value ongoing education and strive to continually expand my knowledge and identity as a clinician.
My ideal day outside of work is spent exploring my neighborhood with my kids and dog, ordering takeout, and watching a mystery docu-series on the couch.
